Knows No Better, Persuading Others to Drink
Jay spoke with a grin, revealing the gap where his front tooth was missing, looking very playful.
Maxwell glared and scolded, "Dr. Xavier came to see us and only gave a few thousand dollars in a red envelope? How much did you give?"
Jay immediately said, "Hey, I was just joking. Uncle Westin, why are you getting angry? Here, let me pour you a drink!"
Maxwell ignored him.
But Jay was very persuasive and kept urging him to drink, saying that if he didn't drink, he wouldn't forgive him, and even touching glasses symbolically would do!
Maxwell was also foolish, thinking that it wouldn't look good if relatives fell out with each other, and no matter what, they would still have to deal with each other in the future. So, he took a sip to show good intentions.
Ruby came out and was so angry that she scolded Jay.
Jay put his arm around Maxwell's shoulder and said, "Isn't my uncle doing well? If he doesn't eat anything, how can he be good? Besides, I deliberately poured him the medicated wine we made at home, which is good for his health!"
"Look at how rosy his complexion is now!"
Jay didn't care and thought that Ruby was making a big deal out of nothing. Was she looking down on him or what?
Ruby was about to get angry, but she was pulled back by her cousin and persuaded, "Forget it, forget it. Uncle Westin is fine. Your husband just wants to apologize to him, and he doesn't have any bad intentions..."
Ruby turned her head angrily and went into the kitchen.
As the night wore on and Ryan left, everyone began to drink more freely, and some were a little drunk. Jay looked at the little boy next to him, who was nibbling on a chicken leg, and said with a grin, "Little Junjun, aren't you thirsty just eating chicken legs? Let Uncle buy you a drink!"
The child was curious and thought it was really a drink, so he took a sip, and then excitedly drank a big gulp, only to find that something was wrong and the alcohol had already entered his throat. He cried out in pain.
The whole house was in chaos again. The child's mother was Ruby's cousin and was helping in the kitchen. When she heard the commotion, she came out and scolded Jay.
"You're crazy. Why are you tricking a child into drinking alcohol?"
Jay didn't care, "Men will eventually drink, let me help you develop a taste for it."
He laughed as the child cried, as if it were all just a game. Ruby's cousin didn't bother with him and just picked up the child and left.
The little boy lay on his mother's shoulder, becoming a bit listless and drowsy.
However, no one had the right idea about this, thinking that the child had accidentally drunk a few sips of alcohol at most and would just sleep it off.
Not long after, when they saw the child 'sleeping', Ruby's cousin carefully put the child on the bed and went to do her own things.
As for Susie, the car slowly pulled away with Ryan driving and Susie obediently sitting in the child safety seat in the back, quietly watching the scenery outside.
Ryan glanced at her in the rearview mirror and was about to say something when suddenly a black figure darted out in front of the car!
Ryan slammed on the brakes, but the car wasn't going very fast to begin with and came to a sudden stop, resulting in...
He watched in amazement as a Tabby, lying perfectly still on the ground, five meters away.
The car was clearly several meters away from it, but it looked as if it had been hit by the car and was meowing in pain.
The expression on its face seemed to say, "Without ten cans of cat food, this isn't over!"
Ryan was dumbfounded. He had seen old men and old women faking accidents, people with vases and suitcases faking accidents, and girls suddenly taking off their shoulder straps and shouting "sexual harassment"...
But this was the first time he had seen a cat faking an accident!
Susie asked, "What's wrong, Uncle?"
Ryan's mouth twitched as he pointed ahead, "Susie, is that the same cat you were playing with just now?"
Susie exclaimed and leaned out to take a look.
Indeed, it was!
Didn't it run away? Why is it here again?
Ryan got out of the car and picked up Susie.
The two of them squatted by the side of the road, silently watching the Tabby.
Ryan said, "Heaven and earth are my witnesses, I didn't hit you. Look, you're still so far away from my car!"
He gestured with his arms.
The cat had an expression that said, "I don't care, you hit me!" and tilted its head, lying completely still on the ground.
Ryan said, remained silent.
Susie said, remained silent.
Susie looked up and reminded the little cat, "Kitten, don't lie down here. This is the middle of the road, it's very dangerous. If a car comes and hits you, it will flatten you." As she spoke, she walked towards the side of the road.
The cat remained silent.
Ryan and Susie stood on the side of the road, staring at the cat face to face. Then, to Ryan and Susie's surprise, the tabby cat got up and moved to the side of the road to a safe area...and then lay down again.
Ryan was amazed. "Is this even possible?"
Susie said, "Kitten! You're exposed! See, you're fine! You can even walk!"
The tabby cat remained silent.
It got up again, this time dragging its hind legs a few steps towards the car and then lying down under the front bumper. If you didn't know better, you would think its hind legs were broken.
Ryan said, "Hey, hey...this is a bit too obvious, isn't it?"
The tabby cat squinted and just lay on the ground.
Susie was at a loss. "Uncle, what should we do?"
Did she throw it out like a weapon, and now it's holding a grudge?
Should they give it money? But if they gave it money, it wouldn't know what to buy!
Suddenly, Ryan remembered something and pointed at the car. "I have a dashcam."
It was lucky he had it, or he might have been scammed by a cat today!
But the cat was unmoved.
Susie said, "Uncle, what does it mean?"
Mitch rubbed his chin and looked at the tabby cat with great interest. "Interesting, it wants you to take it home."
Susie exclaimed, "What?" Her little face looked worried.
If they took the cat home, she was afraid it would bully Alex. When Alex was not busy, he liked to bounce around on the lawn in the garden, or peck at the bark of a tree to play.
The cat not only moved quickly but also climbed trees. If they took it home, Alex would have to hide in his room...
This was irresponsible to Alex.
But if they didn't take it home, Susie felt sorry for the cat. They couldn't lock it up if they took it home, or it would definitely fight with Alex. Alex was so small, how could he beat it?
Besides, what if the tabby cat had an owner? Then she would be a bad person who kidnapped cats!
Susie suddenly found herself in a dilemma and squatted down next to the tabby cat, trying to negotiate with it.
She held out five fingers. "Five cans of small fish and cans, okay?"
The tabby cat didn't even look at her.
Susie gritted her teeth and held out two fingers. "Ten cans of small fish and cans!"
The tabby cat looked at her, seemingly saying, "Who do you think you are?"
It seemed to not want cat food. No matter what Susie offered, it wouldn't budge.
Ryan watched the scene in front of him: a four-year-old girl squatting in front of a cat who was pretending to be injured, trying to negotiate compensation...
